What is ReFly?

ReFly is an online marketplace dedicated exclusively to fly fishing. We connect anglers, tiers, and makers to buy and sell used, vintage, and handmade fly fishing gear in one focused place.

Who am I buying from?

Every item on ReFly is sold by a real person—an angler, tier, or maker. ReFly is a peer-to-peer marketplace, not a retailer.

What condition are items in?

Items may be used, vintage, or handmade. Sellers clearly describe condition and include photos so buyers know exactly what they’re purchasing.

Who can sell on ReFly?

Anyone with fly fishing gear to sell can become a seller—whether you’re clearing out your gear closet, tying flies, or offering small-batch handmade goods.

What can I sell?

Listings must be fly-fishing–related, including:

  • Fly rods, reels, lines, and accessories

  • Fly tying materials, tools, and flies

  • Vintage or collectible fly fishing gear

  • Handmade fly-fishing–related items

How to Sell on ReFly

1. Create a Seller Account

  • Create an account on ReFly.

  • Complete your seller profile.

  • Connect your payout details/Stripe account through the payment provider.

You must be at least 18 years old to sell on ReFly.


2. Create Your Listing

When creating a listing, be sure to include:

  • A clear and accurate title

  • Detailed description of condition (new, used, vintage, handmade)

  • Honest notes about wear, repairs, or flaws

  • High-quality photos from multiple angles

  • Accurate price

Clear listings build trust and reduce disputes.


3. Enter Accurate Package Weight & Dimensions

This is extremely important.

Shipping labels are generated based on the package weight and dimensions you provide. Incorrect information may result in:

  • Incorrect shipping charges

  • Carrier surcharges

  • Delayed shipments

  • Adjusted fees

When entering package details:

  • Measure the final packaged box (not just the item)

  • Include packaging materials (bubble wrap, tube, padding, etc.)

  • Enter weight in pounds and ounces (or your selected unit)

  • Enter length, width, and height accurately

If you’re selling a fly rod, remember that rod tubes often require longer box dimensions.

Accurate shipping details protect both you and the buyer.


4. When Your Item Sells

  • You’ll receive a notification when your item sells.

  • A shipping label will be provided through via email: reflymarket@gmail.com.

  • Package the item securely.

  • Attach the provided label and ship promptly.(Within 5 business days)

Tracking will be automatically updated when available.


5. Get Paid

  • ReFly charges an 8% marketplace fee on completed sales.

  • Payment processing fees may apply.

  • To receive payouts for items sold on ReFly, you must add your Stripe account info to your seller profile. At this time, all seller payouts are processed through Stripe only at this time.

    Please follow these steps before listing items for sale:

    1. Log in to your ReFly account.

    2. Click Profile in the top menu.

    3. Navigate to Payment Methods.

    4. Enter the Stripe account info where you would like to receive payouts.

    5. Save your changes.

    Once a sale is completed and the payout hold window has passed, your funds will be sent directly to this Stripe account.


Shipping & Returns

How does shipping work?

ReFly facilitates shipping using integrated marketplace tools. After an item sells, shipping labels and instructions are provided to the seller through the platform.

Sellers are responsible for securely packaging items and shipping them using the provided labels.

ReFly is not responsible for carrier delays, lost packages, or damage that occurs during transit.

What is the return and refund policy?

All items sold on ReFly are final sale and are not eligible for returns. Because many items are pre-owned or used, we do not offer returns for fit, preference, or change of mind.

However, buyers are protected if an item arrives significantly not as described in the listing.

If you believe your item was misrepresented, please contact ReFly within a reasonable timeframe after delivery to open a dispute. Our team will review the listing details, photos, and communication between buyer and seller to determine an appropriate resolution.

What if an item is not as described?

If misrepresentation is confirmed and a return is approved:

  • The seller will forfeit ReFly Marketplace's payout on the transaction.

  • The buyer will receive a refund of the item’s purchase price.

  • Original shipping charges, ReFly Marketplace fee, and payment processing fees are non-refundable unless otherwise determined by ReFly.


Fees & Payments

How much does it cost to sell on ReFly?

ReFly charges a simple 8% marketplace fee on completed sales. There are no upfront listing fees.

Payment processing fees may apply.

How do sellers get paid?

Seller payouts are processed through ReFly’s payment provider in accordance with their payout schedule and terms. Sellers will be paid out after a short window where the buyer has the chance to receive and review that the item(s) are as described.


Trust & Standards

Are there seller standards?

Yes. Sellers are expected to:

  • Accurately describe items and condition

  • Use clear, honest photos

  • Package items securely

  • Ship orders promptly using provided labels(Within 5 business days)

  • Communicate respectfully with buyers

Failure to meet these standards may result in listing removal or account action.


Taxes

Who is responsible for taxes?

Sellers are responsible for determining, collecting, reporting, and remitting any applicable taxes. ReFly does not provide tax advice.


Legal & Marketplace Disclaimer

ReFly is a marketplace platform and acts solely as a venue to connect buyers and sellers. ReFly does not own, inspect, or take possession of items listed for sale and is not a party to transactions between users.

While ReFly facilitates payments and shipping, all transactions are conducted between buyers and sellers. ReFly is not responsible for the quality, safety, legality, condition, or delivery of items.

Use of ReFly constitutes acceptance of our Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, and Marketplace Guidelines.


Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, ReFly disclaims all warranties and shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the marketplace.
